Murcar Links Golf Club

Murcar Links Golf Club established in 1909 and later refined by the celebrated golf course designer James Braid. Simply a continuation of the links at Balgownie, Murcar's holes run in and out of high dunes. With tees set high and greens nestling behind great banks of whin and gorse. First opened for play in June 1909, Murcar is certainly a challenging course where even the simplest error can prove punishing. Like all old links courses, every club in the bag and every shot in the textbook will be required to get around this course.

Destinations
Tain Golf Club

Situated to the south of Royal Dornoch, Tain is a heathland/links course with spectacular views. Designed originally by Old Tom Morris as a fifteen-hole course in 1890, it was extended to eighteen holes in 1894; eleven Morris holes are still in play today. This is an easy walking course with the river meandering through three of the holes. Always presented in beautiful condition, Tain is a good test of golf, with clever bunkering and natural water hazards. Tain is located 35 miles north of Inverness.
