At Links Golf St Andrews, we are of the opinion that no two itineraries are ever the same. An initial proposal is rarely perfect and planning your dream golf tour is a collaborative process. Following an initial proposal we would always recommend follow-up correspondence and making amendments to find the schedule best suited to you.
We believe that a luxury golf tour should generally cater for 1-8 individuals. This provides the best platform when it comes to tee times, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing and dining. However, depending on the type of experience you are looking to deliver, we work with every size of group; from single golfers to events of over 100 participants.
Here at Links Golf St Andrews we have a wealth of experience in delivering corporate travel, including private golf trips and attendance at tournaments such as The Open, Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup. We are proud to have worked with some exceptional organisations over the years; those whom we have designed one-off experiences for, and those we currently work with on an annual or biennial basis.
Whilst our area of expertise lies in luxury golf travel, many of the groups we work with consist of both golfers and non-golfers. We take great interest in creating itineraries for the non-golfers and a selection of ideas to consider can be found on our ‘Adventures & Experiences‘ page.
We take a deposit to confirm every booking, which is then distributed amongst our industry partners as required to secure your reservations. The balance payment is then due 3 months prior to arrival for private golf tours, or 4 months prior to arrival for packages to The Open and the St Andrews Golf Week. Our general booking Terms & Conditions can be found here.
We always recommend our clients take out appropriate travel insurance and this should be arranged as soon as the initial deposit is made. Further information about travel insurance can be found here.
Many of our clients are now shipping golf clubs, and even luggage, prior to arrival. This prevents them being lost in transit by the airline or airport, whilst generally making for an easier experience travelling. Our clients are more than welcome to ship clubs to our office here in St Andrews, where we will be happy to store them until you arrive. Visit our ‘Golf Club Shipping‘ page for more information and to make arrangements.
This is an additional service offered by the St Andrews Links, in partnership with Recounter as a specialised photography service. If you are looking for downloadable digital images, a professional print ready for hanging, or an eco-leather bound handmade photobook, we would certainly recommend adding this service to your package. Links Golf St Andrews are delighted to be able to arrange this for our clients, visit our ‘Additional Services‘ page to find out more and book.
Most of our clients will utilise our fleet of customised Mercedes vehicles, to travel in true luxury whilst on a Links Golf Tour. This includes our V-Class which are ideal for up to 4 adult passengers with luggage, or a Sprinter conversion for groups of up to 8 passengers. We are also delighted to assist a range of alternative transportation if required, including larger coaches and helicopters. Take a look at our ‘Transport‘ page to see what suits you and add it to your tour.
Of course! Browse our off the course dining and activities for more information. At Links Golf St Andrews we take on the role of a luxury travel service, to assist with your every need from airport to airport. No detail or request is too small. Speak with one of our Golf Travel Consultants to begin planning your Links Golf Tour.
During your time golfing in the UK & Ireland, you will need access to some cash, primarily for paying caddies etc. We would recommend bringing some local currency with you, utilising ATM’s to top up as required.
Golf Club dress codes have relaxed quite significantly over the years, with typical golfing attire accepted on-course almost everywhere. If you are visiting a Golf Club with a specific dress code, we will make you aware at the point of booking and throughout the build up to your tour. You can find information about dress codes for each specific course by visiting our ‘Destinations‘ page and selecting the course you’d like to know more about.

Situated to the south of Royal Dornoch, Tain is a heathland/links course with spectacular views. Designed originally by Old Tom Morris as a fifteen-hole course in 1890, it was extended to eighteen holes in 1894; eleven Morris holes are still in play today. This is an easy walking course with the river meandering through three of the holes. Always presented in beautiful condition, Tain is a good test of golf, with clever bunkering and natural water hazards. Tain is located 35 miles north of Inverness.
